5 hot new Netflix releases set to dominate the internet next week

Netflix movies, a fresh comedy special, true crime titles and new seasons of fan-favorite original TV series – as always, the coming week is packed with tons of exciting and fun new Netflix releases for subscribers to enjoy. We cover everything every week and month, taking a comprehensive look at additions and removals from the streamer’s content library. However, like every weekend, we also want to offer a more curated snapshot of some of the best upcoming releases to watch.

Also, don’t forget to check out our coverage of the streamer’s latest and hottest content every Tuesday, based on Netflix’s weekly global top 10 data. This is what this week’s data tranche revealed, for example love in the mansion — a rom-com set in Italy — made the streamer’s top 10 film list in a whopping 88 countries.

This week is first on our list take revengeCome on 09/16. This is director Jennifer Kaytin Robinson’s second film, and Netflix describes it as an “undermined dark Hitchcock comedy starring the creepiest protagonists of them all: teenage girls.”

Camila Mendes plays Drea, the it girl on campus whose social status is ruined when her sex tape leaks to the entire school. Said to be by her boyfriend and “king of the school,” Max. Meanwhile, Maya Hawke plays Eleanor – a bumbling new transfer student who is dismayed to learn that she now attends the same school as an old bully.

Carissa spread an ugly rumor about Eleanor when they were kids at summer camp together. And so, Drea and Eleanor join forces to forge a secret friendship in which they both pursue each other’s tormentors in what the title suggests, “to exact revenge.”

Destiny: The Winx Saga Season 2 and other Netflix releases

Moving on right away, we also have a new season of Destiny: The Winx Saga join the batch of Netflix releases of the week 09/16. If you haven’t seen the show yet, or have some catching up to do, here’s what you should know.

This series is from creator Brian Young and follows the journey of six fairies coming of age. They visit Alfea, a magical boarding school in the so-called Otherworld. There, they learn to master and hone their powers while also grappling with love, rivalries, and the monsters that threaten their existence.

In Season 2, per Netflix: “The school is back in session under the militant authority of Alfea’s former principal, Rosalind. With the Scorched gone, Dowling ‘disappearing’ and Silva jailed for treason, last year’s Alfea has grown up with new magic, new romances and new faces.”

Meanwhile, fairies begin to disappear, while Bloom and her roommates discover a dangerous menace they must stop – before it wreaks havoc on the entire Otherworld.


More new titles

Now let’s take a closer look at some other Netflix releases set to debut on the platform over the coming week.

sins of our mother: This 3 episode Netflix limited series introduces us to a woman named Lori Vallow. She was known to family and friends as a wife, devoted mother of three and deeply religious. So how come a normal woman who seems to have everything ends up in prison for conspiracy to commit murder and first-degree murder? Especially her fourth husband, her fifth husband’s wife and their two youngest children? Release date: September 14th.

In the dark: Also among the new Netflix releases coming week, Season 4 of In the dark comes on Tuesday. The show’s official description: “After going blind as a teenager, Murphy Mason stopped caring about the world. But when something terrible happens, she is snapped out of her sedation.” Release Date: 13.09.

Another new Netflix release to try

Given that the news cycle seems to be particularly intense lately, I might have to start paying more attention to the standup specials among the Netflix releases we get each week for some much-needed comic relief achieve.

On 09/13Comedian Jo Koy will be releasing another special, adding to several he already has available on the platform. Jo Koy: Live from the Los Angeles Forums, will actually be his fourth such project for Netflix. As Netflix describes it, “True to form, Jo gushed about his relationship with his teenage son, sharing struggles with sleep apnea and more.”

His other standup specials include Jo Koy: Live from Seattle; Jo Koy: In his elementsand Jo Koy: Come hot.
