The University of Iowa men’s golf team tees off Monday at the Inverness Intercollegiate in Toledo, Ohio. The first round begins Monday at 7:45 a.m. CT.
The 54-hole tournament begins on Monday with two rounds, with the final 18 holes being played on Tuesday. On Monday, a “feature” hole will be streamed live throughout the day beginning at 9:00am CT. On Tuesday, ESPN+ will be streaming all of Round 3 action live.

The Hawkeye lineup is led by seniors MacMcClear, Ronan Kleeuand Garret Tighe. second grader Jan Meyer and in the fifth year Gonzalo Leal Montero round out the Iowa starting at five.
Toledo is home to a field of 16 schools, including 12 Golfstat Top 50 teams. Iowa will be up against the likes of No. 1 Oklahoma, No. 8 Texas Tech, No. 10 Washington, No. 11 Georgia Tech, No. 16 Notre Dame, No. 28 Purdue, No. 31 East Tennessee State, No. 32 Ohio State, No. 34 Charlotte, No. 38 Louisville, No. 40 SMU, USC, South Alabama and Virginia.
12 teams that competed in the Inverness Intercollegiate qualified for the NCAA Regionals last spring, including five that qualified for the NCAA Championships (East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, Ohio State, Oklahoma and Texas Tech).
Inverness Golf Club is home of the Toledo Rockets and one of the most storied clubs in the United States. Inverness is the only golf course to have hosted the US Open, US Amateur, US Senior Open and US Junior Amateur championships. The course has hosted four US Opens, two PGA championships, and two NCAA men’s championships since it opened in 1903. Future professionals who played college golf at Inverness include Dustin Johnson, Brooks Koepka and Billy Horschel to name a few.
HISTORY IN INVERNESS
The Hawkeyes last competed during the 2009 NCAA Championships at Inverness Golf Club, where they finished 17th (301-296-290) with a team score of 887 shots over three rounds.
ON THE LINKS
Iowa opened the season with a 12th place finish in the Fighting Irish Classic at Warren Golf Course in South Bend, Indiana.
- The Hawkeyes are bringing back seven golfers from last year’s team, including a class of four seniors; However, Iowa was without any of its low scorers from last season to open the year.
- McClear scored Iowa’s top finish, finishing 21st over three rounds at one under par (209). his second round 67 (-3) marks the low Iowa round by one tournament.
- Leal-Montero was next for Iowa with 216 (+6); The Hawkeye veteran took on McClear this week with nine team-high birdies
Four seniors lead the Hawkeye lineup this season. Leal Montero is returning for a fifth year after starting as Iowa’s only senior last season. He is joined by a former Big Ten champion in McClear and Iowa’s second-lowest scorer of the last season in Kleu. Tighe was also a frequent starter for Iowa.
Iowa travels to Lafayette, Indiana for the Purdue Fall Invitational on October 10-11 at the Kampen Golf Course. The Hawkeyes are hosting the Iowa Fall Classic the following week, October 16-17, at the Blue Top Ridge Golf Course in Riverside, Iowa.
