Is Netflix’s Iron Fist Rebooting On Disney+?

It seems that Marvel Studios wants to make big changes and start over iron fist — maybe replacing or dumping Finn Jones as Danny Rand in favor of another storyline in the MCU.

With Disney+ quickly becoming one of the most widely used streaming services and Disney owning Marvel Studios, it came as no surprise when it was announced in March that all of Marvel’s original series would be coming to Netflix (Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, The Punisher, The Defenders and Marvel’s agents from SHIELD), which previously streamed exclusively through the streaming service, will switch to Disney+ instead.

Before the show even moved home to its new platform, iron fist was canceled in 2018 after two short seasons. Although the series received a mixed critical reception, the show quickly grew to a sizable fan base who were understandably devastated when the show was cut.

When chatting with colliders‘s Christina Radish, Finn Jones (who appeared as Danny Rand) said that he was quite heartbroken at the series’ cancellation, saying, “Really, Season 3 had so much promise and it’s a shame to see it wasted and its full potential will never be reached.”

Some of the series that have moved from Netflix to Disney+ either want to reboot or pick up the series where it left off if Marvel Studios is happy with that. It was whispered about daredevil is rebooting for Disney+, which won’t hit the platform until 2024, but it proves the studio is trying to continue some of its Defender series. jessica jones was mentioned along with some of the bigger shows as Luke cage and daredevilbut everyone wonders what happened to iron fist (Starring Jessica Stroup as Joy Meachum, Sacha Dhawan as Davos, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, Alice Eve, Tom Pelphrey, David Wenham, Wai Ching Ho and Simone Missick as Misty Knight).

Plans for a reboot

Is Netflix's Iron Fist Rebooting On Disney+?

YouTuber ComicBookCast2 published a video on 9th August 2022 on the situation with these Marvel Netflix and ABC shows and what could happen to them iron fist.

According to insiders who spoke to them, Marvel Studios is planning a reboot iron fist and just start over and recast the lead actor. There’s no debate as to why they’d want to scrap the Netflix rendition of it entirely and almost pretend it never happened, but one thing is clear, they’re not happy with it the way it is, and if iron fist continues, it currently seems like it’s only progressing through a whole new reboot.

CBC mentioned that it felt like Marvel Studios was saying, “We can still take credit for it, but we’re going to give you the real thing.” iron fist Experience.” And for that they want to do a remake iron fist from scratch because it will be a clean reboot that doesn’t depend on any of the Netflix show’s canons. It wouldn’t be the first time the Iron Fist’s wielder has changed in comics history, either, as it appears it can carry over from person to person.

Only Marvel Studios can confirm whether the claims are true, but it would make sense for them to dismiss everything Marvel’s Iron Fist and start with a clean slate so they can take the series to new heights.

Was Marvel’s Iron Fist really that bad on Netflix?

Marvel Iron Fist review

if Luke cage What’s taught us all is that every Marvel Netflix series is different and doesn’t have something for everyone. iron fist (out into people showrunner Scott Buck) was another example of this. While the series received a lot of buzz for “whitewashing” and all sorts of other ridiculous accusations, it was ultimately a show dedicated to kung fu action fans of the ’80s and ’90s.

Unfortunately, we live in a time when it has become almost impossible to tell the truth from a lie. The internet has become a platform where biased and hateful journalists sell fake stories and negative reviews to gain opinions. While it’s impossible to really tell if you like something or not without examining or experiencing it for yourself, there are a handful of people who will fool you into believing they are experts on what’s good and what’s bad . in summary, iron fist was much better than most critics would have you believe.

The series tells the story of Danny Rand (game of Thrones actor Finn Jones), a martial arts expert who returns to New York after many years believed dead. The sole survivor of a plane crash that took him and his billionaire parents with them, Rand was rescued by a group of monks from a mystical dimension known as K’un-Lun, where he trained as the Iron Fist. Now he must battle two groups of villains to achieve his goals: a brother and sister who have taken over his family’s wealth, and The Hand, K’un-Lun’s old enemy. Along the way, he befriends other martial artists (like Jessica Henwick’s Colleen Wing) and even gets in touch with Daredevil’s nurse, Claire Temple (Rosario Dawson).

Right off the bat, Danny’s origin story was a familiar mix of Batman and Green Arrow. It’s easy to draw comparisons between the three characters. Maybe then it’s more appropriate to compare it to the candy-colored one Arrow than any other Netflix show.

Whereas daredevil, Luke cage and jessica jones felt more like a 13 hour movie iron fist had more characteristics of a TV show. This was especially felt in the direction of the 13 episodes. It lacks the flair and creative direction that made previous shows big critical winners.

Episode 6, for example, was directed by Wu Tang’s RZA (responsible for some of the kill Bill Soundtrack and director of The man with the iron fist). Despite RZA’s repertoire, his distinct style didn’t make it into the episode. Instead, everything felt a little like the book.

However, the fight sequences and most of the performances were on par with what we’ve seen from Marvel Television before. Finn Jones did a decent job as Danny Rand, although he was less appealing than Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock or Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle.

However, as with all other shows, it was the villains that drew our full attention. Tom Pelphrey (Ward Meachum) and David Wenham (Harold Meachum) were great father-son duos and carry the most weight. They delivered compelling emotional performances that made you hate and love them at the same time – something Marvel was able to achieve with villains like David Tennant’s Killgrave, Mahershala Ali’s Cottonmouth and Vincent D’Onofrio’s Wilson Fisk.

Danny Rand Iron Fist MARVEL TV

If you only watched these shows for the comic book action, you won’t be disappointed. There’s a lot of floor fights (some of them pretty gruesome). iron fist was at its strongest when Danny Rand channeled his chi and went into full action mode. From the opening moments of the series, it’s pretty clear that he’s the most skilled fighter among defenders. His acrobatic kicks and fiery punch were simply hypnotic.

The show would have been stronger if they only allowed more cameos from Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage and Punisher. While many of the characters from these shows do crossover, the viewer is constantly hoping and looking around every corner for a glimpse of the other Defenders. It gets incredibly frustrating, especially when they all know the same people and are all effectively fighting the same enemies.

iron fist wasn’t perfect by any means – it dragged on in the middle, it was predictable, and the character’s choices could be frustrating – but it certainly wasn’t 17%, as Rotten Tomatoes suggests. All of these things were forgivable.

Both Iron first season 1 and the second season had a lot of things for them too. The main thing was that it was fun.

Let’s hope the Iron Fist reboot learns from the Netflix series’ mistakes and delivers something Marvel fans are excited about.
